That’s right: It seems Watchmen: Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray will go on sale around the holidays and Superheromoviespot.Com only be available until the end of June, 2010! If that’s the case, then Watchmen fans better get it while it’s
Dave Gibbons: …I am involved in reviewing various materials that are being produced in connection with the Watchmen movie…the motion comics…video games, new editions of the book, sculptures…I’m off in a few weeks to do a mini-tour with Zack to publicize the movie. I’m then doing a mini-tour of the UK to publicize the Watching the Watchmen book and a similar mini-tour of the US to do the same…I’ve also done pieces of licensing art, to get the definitive look of the movie characters…It’s often the case that this kind of work is done by people who aren’t connected with the original property, with the inevitable lack of authenticity and so on…hopefully my approach to it will filter through to the final products and they will be, to that degree, much more faithful to the original graphic no
Similar to the Scream Awards , I really dig the Saturn Awards because of the types of films they celebrate. Often with awards like the Oscars and the Golden Globes, purely fun films that have every bit of merit as the serious ones get left
“There’s nothing in this film that couldn’t happen. Some of the actions sequences are… you know, we’re making a movie, so I pushed the boundaries as far as I could. There are a few moments you’d maybe pull off one in a million times if you were doing it for real. But I tried to ground this as much in reality without it being a documenta
Which brings us, finally, to today and this whole ugly lawsuit where everyone (including our site) has labeled Fox as the bad guy. Now there is no love lost between Fox and myself. They’ve mucked up a lot of potentially great superhero movies ( Daredevil, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, X-Men 3, Fantastic Four ), not to mention the grief they gave me about a Day the Earth Stood Still post here at Screen Ra
Will this affect the release date for Watchmen ? Does Fox really want to keep the movie from being released or are they just playing this situation to the hilt in order to extract maximum coinage from Warner Bros. in an out of court settlem
It really sounds like Vaughn has put his all into Kick-Ass , keeping the source material firmly in mind. I am liking the sound of it – particularly of what he says about giving the movie a glossy Spider-Man feel while having all of the really gritty, really violent stuff happen on-screen. I’d love to get a look of some of those moviegoer’s faces that aren’t expecting such explicitn
Now that we’ve seen that , is there really any other reason to see Watchmen: The Director’s Cut ? To answer that question for yourself, take a look at some of the other deleted scenes you’ll be seeing by going he
So what didn’t work? I thought that both Malin Akerman and Carla Gugino were quite weak. Akerman’s performance came across as pretty shallow to me, and Gugino’s first real scene in the film as an old woman almost had me laughing out loud because it seemed so campy. I could take or leave Patrick Wilson’s performance – maybe it was just the character he was playing that left me c
As the release date for the much-anticipated Watchmen movie draws near, the marketing machine behind the film is starting to turn its gears, hoping to lure those moviegoers not familiar with Alan Moore’s groundbreaking graphic novel into theaters next Spr
Today marks the day when the nominations for the 36th Annual Saturn Awards are given out. In case you’re not familiar with them, they are given out by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films (they also include TV shows and stage productions) so as a reader of Screen Rant I believe they’re right up your alley
“I don’t want to tempt fate. But Mark (Millar) and I over a couple of beers came up with one of the funniest, coolest idea for a sequel that we would only be able to get away with if the film does well. We’d sort of dial it up to eleven, shall we s
When Kick-Ass eventually does get a release, it’ll be interesting to see how it does at the box office. Much in the same way as Watchmen , this isn’t a well known property outside the “comic book geek” world, and like Watchmen it’s very violent. By now we know how (not) great Watchmen did at the box office ; however Wanted (another little-known comic book adapted into a violent movie) was a surprise hit at the box office, so who kn
I’m a little (no, A LOT) suspect of The Book of Eli , Transformers 2 and Wolverine getting nominated for Best Fantasy Film (and District 9 didn’t?!) and New Moon and The Box getting nominated in the Horror category (were either of those even horror movie
The problem is – I can’t “unremember” the book in order to give you the point of view of someone coming to the film with little knowledge of the story, and I’m not so into it that I can compare it detail by detail to the book – so take this review for what it’s worth. Some of you will end up agreeing with me and others will probably call me an idiot… such is the life of a guy who runs a movie webs
